Beep Beep!

The classic Airstream is making a come back!

Check out the cover of the new DWR catalog and you'll learn that the classic Airstream is about to hit the road again. I have to admit...I love it! I am certainly no fan of camping or roughing it, but this makes me want to pack up my bug spray and smores and head for the nearest campground. http://www.dwr.com/airstream

House in A Box

This has got to be my favorite modular house yet. Ok, the fun little website doesn't hurt, but I love the simple design of these little wonders. Good design and simple construction along with a brand new house that is delivered right to your door....or should I say drive.

With all the new development scheduled for Downtown things are starting to look up for the Motor City!

Urban Alchemy

It's no secret Detroit has been economically struggling since...well the eighties. With outside businesses establishing Renaissance Zones in several areas of the city, and Empowerment Zones (EZ) throughout the city, quality of life downtown has been effectively raised. However, many national publications still leave our city out of the thread work of design, architectural, and building resources in their media.

Detroit natives are well aware of the entrepreneurial spirit that breathes inspiration into every building and business established in Metro-Detroit. Despite a notable amount of national negativity, the fact is, Metro-Detroit has an advancing building industry. To capitalize on its progress gethomesdetroit.com was made. If you are a builder, or consumer and need a local architect, builder, interior designer, landscape designer, marketing company, or professional renovations done it can be easily accessed. If you believe in Detroit enough to live in Metro-Detroit, then trust and support local business.

A Brave New World

It’s a typical situation, another batch of newly graduated college kids venture out from the incessant ebb and flow of life as a student. As exhilarating as it seems, for some, there are daunting tasks which lay ahead-the need to secure a “real job”.

Not to fear! If you are relentless, then that will soon be taken care of. Then, once the thrill of buying expensive shampoo wears off, a new necessity arises: It’s time to upgrade the current living situation. The days of beer pong may be gone, but the sound of a sophisticated wet bar may seem more appealing to the newly trained eyes.

On the Get Homes Detroit Website, you can actually search by area and, or price. For instance if you got a job downtown Detroit and would like to live the city life, I did some leg work for you and found this. If you had a different area in mind all you need to do is go here.

Good Luck Grads!

Love up the Landscape

Summertime seems like the best time to exercise through the neighborhood. Whether you'd like to admit to it or not, your thoughts inadvertantly stray from proper breathing and begin to secretly spy on the neighbors who’ve--completely revamped their yard! Your neighbors’ lawn is complete with box shrubbery, brick pathways, and a small pergola.
You briefly look back at your own well-watered, yet slightly forest-like lawn with a sigh. If you are like me, then you understand the perilousness of the situation. I didn’t even know there was technical terminology to landscaping until I read the lastest issue of the Get Homes Detroit virtual Magazine. Believe me, with all the competition within the housing market, you've got to keep up with those proverbial “Jones’s”.
